Silicon Valley, Hollywood, Apple Fans Respond to News of Steve Jobs' Death

The tech world lost its biggest star on October 5, 2011: Steve Jobs has passed away. Fans of Jobs and his work are crushing Twitter and Facebook with tributes as the news spreads.

Apple CEO Tim Cook wrote, "No words can adequately express our sadness at Steve's death."

Microsoft founder Bill Gates spoke fondly of Steve Jobs, saying, "For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely."
